He too was the child of a&nbsp;time mark\u00aded by the cata\u00adstro\u00adphe of the Thir\u00adty Years\u2019 War, a&nbsp;time which, more than other eras, cal\u00adled for cer\u00adtain\u00adty, sta\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty and secu\u00adri\u00adty. This coll\u00adec\u00adti\u00adve lon\u00adging to regain con\u00adtrol over life may well have been powerful in Des\u00adcar\u00adtes as well. If you are loo\u00adking for a&nbsp;reason why in the 21st cen\u00adtu\u00adry we find it so dif\u00adfi\u00adcult to meet the chal\u00adlenges of cli\u00adma\u00adte chan\u00adge, the poi\u00adso\u00adning of the oce\u00adans and the mass extinc\u00adtion of enti\u00adre spe\u00adci\u00ades, you will find it here: The fish stinks from the head; the matrix of our thin\u00adking is mal\u00adfunc\u00adtio\u00adning; our brain is working with a&nbsp;defec\u00adti\u00adve ope\u00adra\u00adting sys\u00adtem. Its name is, in a&nbsp;word coin\u00aded by the phi\u00adlo\u00adso\u00adpher Mar\u00adtin Heid\u00adeg\u00adger, <em>Ge-Stell.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The deformation of the world to a&nbsp;resource.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This sounds stran\u00adge, but on clo\u00adser inspec\u00adtion it is very enligh\u00adtening. What Heid\u00adeg\u00adger wan\u00adted to express by the term Ge-Stell is the fact that con\u00adtem\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adry man has sought to con\u00adfront (= stel\u00adlen) the world in which he lives \u2013 just as a&nbsp;com\u00admis\u00adsio\u00adner con\u00adfronts (= stellt) a&nbsp;cri\u00admi\u00adnal. In all of this, natu\u00adre is con\u00adver\u00adted into a&nbsp;stock (= Bestand) \u2013 a&nbsp;resour\u00adce \u2013 which is sto\u00adcked (= bestellt) and uti\u00adli\u00adzed by our machi\u00adne-desi\u00adgned eco\u00adno\u00admy to achie\u00adve the supre\u00adma\u00adcy and power sought sin\u00adce the days of Des\u00adcar\u00adtes. The stra\u00adte\u00adgists at Goog\u00adle, Ama\u00adzon and Co. desi\u00adre it to beco\u00adme per\u00adfect by con\u00adver\u00adting natu\u00adre com\u00adple\u00adte\u00adly into a&nbsp;pro\u00adcessa\u00adble data stock (= Bestand) and thus making it obso\u00adle\u00adte. This sounds sur\u00adpri\u00adsing at first sight, if you think that the world was still well befo\u00adre the indus\u00adtri\u00adal revo\u00adlu\u00adti\u00adon and that peo\u00adp\u00adle still had very litt\u00adle reason to lament the loss of natu\u00adre. In his novel <em>Hype\u00adri\u00adon<\/em> of 1796 he wro\u00adte: \u201eI tell you: the\u00adre is not\u00adhing sacred that is not dese\u00adcra\u00adted, not degra\u00added to a&nbsp;poor reme\u00addy in this peo\u00adp\u00adle, and what is most\u00adly pre\u00adser\u00adved divi\u00adne\u00adly pure even among sava\u00adges, that is what the\u00adse all-cal\u00adcu\u00adla\u00adting bar\u00adba\u00adri\u00adans do, how one does such a&nbsp;craft, and can\u00adnot do other\u00adwi\u00adse, for whe\u00adre once a&nbsp;human being is dril\u00adled, the\u00adre it ser\u00adves its pur\u00adpo\u00adse, the\u00adre it seeks its use.\u201d Uti\u00adliza\u00adti\u00adon, func\u00adtion\u00adal ratio\u00adna\u00adli\u00adty, cal\u00adcu\u00adla\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty \u2013 it is the\u00adse fetis\u00adhes of today\u2019s digi\u00adtal homo eco\u00adno\u00admic\u00adus that the poet pill\u00adories. For it is they who have defor\u00admed what \u201d is most\u00adly pre\u00adser\u00adved divi\u00adne\u00adly pure even among sava\u00adges, \u201d \u2013 natu\u00adre \u2013 into a&nbsp;mere stock of mate\u00adri\u00adal or&nbsp;data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201eYou tear whe\u00adre it tole\u00adra\u00adtes&nbsp;you\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus it is the peo\u00adp\u00adle of moder\u00adni\u00adty, per\u00adme\u00ada\u00adted by the matrix of the Ge-Stell and their instru\u00admen\u00adtal reason, whom H\u00f6l\u00adder\u00adlin con\u00adfronts: \u201eYou worry and think about esca\u00adping fate and do not under\u00adstand if your child\u00adren\u2019s art\u00adwork does not help; mean\u00adwhile, the stars abo\u00adve are wan\u00adde\u00adring harm\u00adless\u00adly. You dis\u00adgrace, you tear apart whe\u00adre it tole\u00adra\u00adtes you, pati\u00adent natu\u00adre, but it lives on, in infi\u00adni\u00adte youth. O&nbsp;divi\u00adne she must be, becau\u00adse you are allo\u00adwed to des\u00adtroy, and yet she does not age and beau\u00adty remains beau\u00adtiful in spi\u00adte of you\u201d. And fur\u00adther: \u201eOr is not divi\u00adne that which you exalt and call soul\u00adless? Is bet\u00adter, for your babb\u00adling, not the air that you drink? the sun\u2019s rays, are they not nobler, for all you who are wise? the springs of the earth and the mor\u00adning dew refresh your gro\u00adve; can you do that&nbsp;too?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201epati\u00adent\u201d natu\u00adre deser\u00adves the pre\u00addi\u00adca\u00adte \u201edivi\u00adne\u201d becau\u00adse it is more all-embra\u00adcing and grea\u00adter than any\u00adthing man has ever con\u00adcei\u00adved \u2013 inclu\u00adding the most advan\u00adced arti\u00adfi\u00adci\u00adal intel\u00adli\u00adgen\u00adces. And the only appro\u00adpria\u00adte way to encoun\u00adter it is through devo\u00adti\u00adon, rever\u00adence, shy\u00adness and love: qua\u00adli\u00adties that we modern men too often smi\u00adle at \u2013 and the\u00adr\u00ade\u00adfo\u00adre depri\u00adve us of the best that natu\u00adre\u2019s life (the\u00adre is no other! ) offers us: its con\u00adstant appeal and appr\u00adoval, which can streng\u00adthen and empower us humans \u2013 yes, which grants the ful\u00adfilm\u00adent for which we all yearn so much and for which we gene\u00adral\u00adly do not expect through tur\u00adning towards natu\u00adre, but through con\u00adsump\u00adti\u00adon and com\u00admer\u00adce, or even through spi\u00adri\u00adtua\u00adli\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adon and spi\u00adri\u00adtu\u00adal with\u00addra\u00adwal from the world. From this, howe\u00adver, we will never achie\u00adve the ful\u00adfilm\u00adent that is besto\u00adwed upon us by an open heart in rela\u00adti\u00adonship with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The beloved in front of the beloved<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>H\u00f6l\u00adder\u00adlin also pro\u00adclaims this in his <em>Hype\u00adri\u00adon<\/em>: \u201eBut you are still shi\u00adning, sun of hea\u00adven! You are still green, holy earth! The streams still rush into the sea, and shady trees whisper at noon. The joyful song of spring chants my mor\u00adtal thoughts to sleep. The full\u00adness of the living world nou\u00adris\u00adhes and satia\u00adtes my star\u00adving being with drun\u00adken\u00adness. Oh bles\u00adsed natu\u00adre! I&nbsp;do not know what will befall me when I&nbsp;lift my eyes befo\u00adre thy beau\u00adty, but all the plea\u00adsu\u00adres of hea\u00adven are in the tears I&nbsp;weep in front of thee, the bel\u00adoved one in front of the bel\u00adoved.\u201d The\u00adse words speak of a&nbsp;clear under\u00adstan\u00adding that not\u00adhing so ful\u00adfills us human beings as when we meet with natu\u00adre or the \u201d all ali\u00adve world\u201d, as H\u00f6l\u00adder\u00adlin calls it. He knows: \u201eTo be one with ever\u00ady\u00adthing ali\u00adve, to return in blissful self-for\u00adgetful\u00adness to the uni\u00adver\u00adse of natu\u00adre, that is the peak of all thoughts and joys.\u201d And he descri\u00adbes the bliss of this return to natu\u00adre in pro\u00adfound\u00adly moving words: \u201eMy who\u00adle being falls silent and lis\u00adtens when the gent\u00adle wave of air plays lovin\u00adg\u00adly around my chest. Lost in the wide blue, I&nbsp;often look up to the ether and into the holy sea, and I&nbsp;feel as if a&nbsp;kind\u00adred spi\u00adrit is ope\u00adning its arms to me, as if the pain of soli\u00adtu\u00adde was dis\u00adsol\u00adving into the life of the divine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One could dis\u00admiss this as kind of pathe\u00adtic exu\u00adberance by an eccen\u00adtric poet \u2013 but this would only show how advan\u00adced the dena\u00adtu\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon of one\u2019s own fee\u00adlings has alre\u00ada\u00addy beco\u00adme. For in truth, the\u00adse words speak of a&nbsp;crys\u00adtal-clear awa\u00adre\u00adness of what is nee\u00added in our dena\u00adtu\u00adred world alo\u00adne: a&nbsp;new recon\u00adnec\u00adtion to natu\u00adre \u2013 a&nbsp;new <em>reli\u00adgio<\/em> (from Latin: <em>reli\u00adga\u00adre<\/em> \u2013 to recon\u00adnect), which leads us humans to aban\u00addon all fan\u00adta\u00adsies of omni\u00adpo\u00adtence and domi\u00adnan\u00adce over natu\u00adre, inclu\u00adding, or pre\u00adcis\u00ade\u00adly, the digi\u00adtal <em>Homo Deus<\/em> fan\u00adta\u00adsies (Juval Noah Hara\u00adri) from the spin\u00adning rooms of Sili\u00adcon Val\u00adley IT giants. It is not escape into vir\u00adtu\u00adal or ste\u00adri\u00adle mere\u00adly spir\u00adtu\u00adal worlds that will help huma\u00adni\u00adty advan\u00adce, but a&nbsp;radi\u00adcal, even dis\u00adrup\u00adti\u00adve depar\u00adtu\u00adre from the machi\u00adne matrix of <em>Ge-Stell<\/em>. Repla\u00adcing it by a&nbsp;matrix of natu\u00adral ali\u00adveness is the only way out of this dead-end street crea\u00adted by digi\u00adtal homo eco\u00adno\u00admic\u00adus. And it is like\u00adwi\u00adse the path to what real\u00adly mat\u00adters and what is real\u00adly important for the life of humans: the path to love and the path to the very mea\u00adning of life, which con\u00adsists sole\u00adly in gra\u00adteful\u00adly and hum\u00adbly accep\u00adting and affir\u00adming the life natu\u00adre has given us; and by using words bor\u00adro\u00adwed from H\u00f6l\u00adder\u00adlin\u2019s novel <em>Hype\u00adri\u00adon<\/em> to say: \u201eTo be, to live, that is enough\u201c.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We need a&nbsp;new reli\u00adgi\u00adon: to recon\u00adnect with natu\u00adre The Fall can be dated exact\u00adly.
